Virginia Beach, Virginia is host to many tourists and is no doubt a beautiful place to visit. There is no better way to begin your beach day than with a Bloody Mary and a mouthwatering morning nosh full of bacon and eggs. Here is a list of the best brunch offerings that this area has to offer. Try one. Try them all. You won’t be disappointed with these delectable cuisine options.
Bakers Crust
1628 Laskin Rd UNIT 704, Virginia Beach, VA 23451
Bakers Crust has two Virginia Beach locations (Princess Anne and Hilltop). It is a smallish restaurant with simply amazing food. They have both high top tables and booth seating options.
Their menu is a combination of fresh and farm to table items that are all made in house. Have your eggs or pancakes with a nice crafted cocktail. Brunch items are served daily until 2pm. Their locations have both indoor and outdoor seating. The staff is friendly and the food is nothing short of delicious.
Citrus
2265 W Great Neck Rd, Virginia Beach, VA 23451
Citrus is another awesome restaurant. Citrus has two locations in Virginia Beach (West Great Neck and North Great Neck). The menu contains items that are all made in house and from scratch daily. The weekend breakfast menu changes weekly.
The produce is locally sourced and there are many healthy options. The drinks are tasty and the food is super yummy. This is a very popular eatery so get there early!! Breakfast is served all day. They have bar seating, booth seating and a fantastic outdoor section with one table that has a fire pit.
Mermaid Winery
4401 Shore Dr, Virginia Beach, VA 23455
The Mermaid Winery is located in Virginia Beach on Shore Drive. They serve brunch on Sundays from 11 am to 2 pm. The Winery has wonderful mimosa options including a Hibiscus mimosa which is a must try.
The breakfast nachos are awesome. The menu is inventive and extensive. There is something to please everyone. *Brunch is currently not available due to Covid. Be sure to check it out when it returns.
The Butcher’s Son
1556 Laskin Rd #134, Virginia Beach, VA 23451
The Butcher’s Son has one of the best Brunch buffets available in Hampton Roads period!! The Butcher’s Son is located on Laskin Rd. Brunch is available on Sundays from 9 am to 2 pm. Reservation are available and encouraged.
The menu options include a breakfast Mac n cheese, waffles, baked goods, an omelet station, carving station, and more. Enjoy hot coffee and a lovely cocktail with your delectable meal for a reasonable price. Don’t forget to try the fried chicken and waffles.
Bay Local
2917 Shore Dr, Virginia Beach, VA 23451
Bay Local is a favorite for locals of the Virginia Beach area. They have great weekend brunch offerings. There are two locations including Laskin Rd. And Shore Dr. Brunch is available all day on Sundays from 7 am to 5 pm and the menu is extensive. Try the biscuits and gravy or candied pecan french toast bites. The crab dip is a must try as well.
The drinks won’t disappoint. This is a favorite restaurant in the area for obvious reasons. Make sure you get there early to avoid a long wait.
Tupelo Honey

Tupelo Honey is an awesome all around restaurant. Their weekend brunch is no exception. Tupelo Honey is located in the Town Center area of Virginia Beach. The Brunch menu is available on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 am until 4 pm. All of the food is locally sourced and is farm to table.
The menu includes wonderful chicken and biscuits and avocado toast. The mixed drinks are to die for. This is one of the best restaurants by far!! Reservations are available and should be made in advance. There is bar seating, booths, tables and a wonderful outdoor seating section. The staff is friendly and well versed on the origin of all the food on the menu.
Doc Taylor’s

Doc Taylor’s is a quaint and perfect little restaurant located near the oceanfront in Virginia Beach. The breakfast options are amazing and just what you are looking for. It is a short walk to the beach and is a great option if you are looking for a wonderful morning start before your ocean adventures.
Try the creatively named dishes, including the Nurse Ratchett omelet. Have a mimosa or a Bloody Mary This diner is fantastic!!
Croc’s 19th Street Bistro – Drag Brunch

Croc’s 19th Street Bistro – If you are looking for a tasty breakfast and a little entertainment to start your day, Croc’s Drag Me To Brunch is the way to go. Reservations are necessary!!
Have your eggs while watching the best drag show in town. Bring your single dollar bills and a camera. Be ready to sing along and have some laughs with some friends. The show is absolutely entertaining. This place has a great atmosphere. It is super fun and has wonderful food and drinks. This is a great brunch option and must-do experience in Virginia Beach.
Commune

Commune is another farm to table brunch option in Virginia Beach. It is located on Virginia Beach Blvd. The food is just fantastic. The ingredients are sustainable and the menu is extremely large. The food options range from Pimento Cheese and Pickle board to Crepes of all flavors. The cocktail menu is quite extensive as well.
Try the jalapeño infused margarita. The food is just plain delicious. No matter what you order, your tummy will thank you. The Virginia Beach location is open from 8 am to 3 pm. The seating is family style. They also have window/ bar seating.
Hair of The Dog Eatery
4000 Virginia Beach Blvd, Virginia Beach, VA 23452
Hair of The Dog is located on Shore drive in Virginia Beach. They serve breakfast daily starting at 8 am. Try the Chesapeake Benedict with local crabmeat for a breakfast treat and local favorite.
Reservations are available for this location and are recommended as the tables fill up quickly on the weekends. Online ordering for takeout is also available. This restaurant is aptly named and will serve you well after a night on the town.
