We recently visited and reviewed the breakfast/brunch offering at Bill’s Restaurant. Although we visited the York restaurant, they all serve the same dishes in the same style.
Brunch is served from 8am on a weekday, 8.30 on a Saturday and 9am on a Sunday. The last orders for brunch is at 11am. The restaurant itself is relaxed but lively and was busy on the day we visited. Scrubbed pine tables and chandeliers make for a pleasing eclectic look.
Brunch at Bill’s
Before I get on to what we ordered, breakfast and brunch dishes at Bill’s include options such as:
Bill’s Garden Plate
Two poached free-range eggs, halloumi, roasted plum tomato, charred red peppers, smashed avocado, hollandaise, mushrooms, fried potatoes, baked beans, pea shoots, mixed seeds & toast.
Scrambled Eggs on Toast
Add smoked salmon or smoked streaky bacon for an extra charge.
Eggs Benedict
Two poached free-range eggs, Wiltshire ham and hollandaise served on a toasted muffin.
Before our food arrived I ordered a pot of Earl Grey for one. It was served in this huge teapot and kept me going all through my breakfast – excellent value.
For our brunch I tried the Traditional Breakfast. It included fried free-range eggs, Cumberland sausage, smoked streaky bacon, roasted plum tomatoes, mushrooms & toast. The toast was served with two generous pats of real butter too, which was lovely. The smoked streaky bacon was very tasty, and much better quality than the Cumberland sausage.
We also tried the Eggs Royale – two poached free-range eggs, smoked salmon and hollandaise served on a toasted muffin. The salmon was great and the eggs were nicely poached and runny.
We also went for the Five Pancake Stack with smoked streaky bacon and pancake syrup (you could also go for banana, strawberries and blueberries on your pancakes for a veggie option).
