Breakfast at the Harvester Restaurant – REVIEW

Breakfast at The Harvester, Review – I’ve eaten many times in our local Harvester (my Mum gets a kick out of their help-yourself salad bar).  We usually do lunch and hadn’t tried the breakfast, so in the interests of being able to share the results with you, we visited today to check out the offering!  They do a classic breakfast with all the favourites (two pork sausages, two rashers of back bacon, your choice of fried, scrambled or poached free-range eggs, two hash browns, tomato, mushroom and Heinz baked beans) you can also add a 4oz rump steak for an extra payment.

I won’t give the prices as I think they are different depending on which location you visit, but on the whole, it’s very reasonably priced. (You can check prices online in your local here).  There is also an all-you-can-eat option with unlimited drinks where you can choose whatever you want from the following list: Pork Sausage, Vegan Sausage (VE), Back Bacon, Black Pudding,  Mushroom (VE), Heinz® Baked Beans (VE), Hash Browns (VE), Chips (VE) , Tomato (VE), Scrambled, Fried or Poached Free-Range Eggs (V), Guacamole (V).

There are vegetarian and vegan options too, as well as pancakes, waffles and eggs.  We often go for the full English but went a bit off piste for a change.  I chose the ‘Chicken, Bacon and Waffles’ (Southern-fried chicken breast, a Belgian waffle and back bacon with maple-flavour syrup).  I know it’s a bit of an odd combo for us Brits, but don’t knock it until you’ve tried it – it was delish!

We also tried the Buttermilk Pancakes and Bacon (With three rashers of back bacon, drizzled with maple-flavour syrup).

And my Mum went for the Eggs Benedict (Toasted breakfast muffin, two poached free-range eggs and back bacon, topped with hollandaise sauce).

Harvester Breakfast Review

There is a ‘Breakfast Bar’ that is included when you order a breakfast main course, and here you will find unlimited yoghurts, cereal etc.

Harvester Breakfast Review

All in all, a good experience and a decent priced breakfast.  I visited the York Harvester, but believe the menu is very much the same regardless of which Harvester you visit.
