Conveniently located by the iconic Lendal bridge, and affording diners gorgeous views of the River Ouse, The Star Inn The City is one of the city’s most prestigious eateries. Although The Star Inn The City may be more synonymous with fine dining and celebratory occasions, pigeonholing this restaurant would do a huge disservice to their incredible breakfast offering. Pancake stacks accompanied by ripe seasonal berries and wildflower honey, as well as succulent smoked salmon with free range scrambled eggs are just some of the tempting morning bites on offer.

Award-winning sausages, black pudding and smoked back bacon join an all-star cast of fried bread, grilled tomatoes and field mushrooms: it’s not hard to see why The Star Inn The City offers arguably the best breakfast in York city centre.
