City Cruises – the leading sightseeing operator on the River Thames – is excited to announce the launch of its highly anticipated Sunday Brunch River this April. Passing by some of London’s most famous landmarks, guests will be able to spend a Sunday morning indulging in a range of delicious food, soundtracked by an on-board DJ playing a selection of chill tunes.

Guests will board the boat from Tower Pier and embark on a two-and-a-half-hour cruise down the Thames, starting their journey with a glass of sparkling wine before a brunch filled with a variety of delicious dishes including the likes of American style pancakes with maple syrup, smoked salmon, cream cheese and rocket bagels and grilled vegetable tabbouleh, feta, quinoa and pomegranate salad. All the best bits of a traditional full English breakfast will also be on offer – as well as a selection of bread rolls, Danish pastries and croissants for a more continental feel. Guests can indulge on these delightful dishes while passing by iconic sites of the London Eye, Tower of London, Tower, Tate Modern, The Shard, Big Ben, to name but a few.

With chilled vibes and tunes provided by the on-board DJ and a stocked bar open for additional orders of wine, beer, champagne or cocktails – it’s the perfect way to spend a Sunday. Just don’t forget to get that all important Instagram shot!

The Sunday Brunch Cruise will depart from Tower Pier for two and a half hours at 12:30 on selected Sundays from April to September 2022. Prices start from £39 per person.

Slug and Lettuce – Bottomless Brunch

Slug and Lettuce do a Bottomless Brunch.  You will need to pre-book.  You can indulge in selected brunch dishes and enjoy unlimited glasses of Prosecco, Mimosas, Aperol Spritz, Bloody Marys, Pints of Amstel, Virgin Marys or selection of soft drinks for two hours!  Available every day.  You can enjoy favourites like the full English breakfast or ‘Pornstar pancakes’ – five American pancakes, topped with a Prosecco, vodka mango and passionfruit compote.  If you spend a little more you can upgrade to a more lunchtime menu with items like a BBQ rump steak sandwich, Halloumi and avo sandwich or Tostada topped with chicken and chorizo.  With a further upgrade you can go for Pornstar Martinis.

Gaucho is a glamorous Argentinian steak restaurant and they do a premium bottomless brunch.  You can choose from such brunch dishes as Choripan Sandwich, Steak and Eggs, Eggs Royal and Coconut Quinoa Porridge.  To accompany your meal, you can choose from unlimited Botanical No 1, Jack & Ginger, Bloody Marys, Aperol Spritz, Rekorderlig and Cinnamon Colada.  If you want to upgrade you can then partake in unlimited Pornstar Martini, Domain Chandon and Espresso Martini.  You can spend 90 minutes at your table.

Cafe Rouge are a chain of French restaurants. “Whatever the time of day, we have a dish to suit your mood; from steak frites and boeuf bourguignon to a selection of croques, baguettes and vegan options too – all on our menu of classic French food with a contemporary twist.”  They offer breakfast and brunch dishes such as the Grande Breakfast (two free-range eggs, two Cumberland sausages, sweet cure bacon, beans, mushroom, tomato, black pudding, sautéed potatoes and sourdough toast), Pancakes (three warm pancakes topped with your choice of sweet cure bacon, banana and maple syrup, or fresh strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and pineapple with fruit compot, and French Toast (two slices of sweet brioche bread topped with your choice of sweet cure bacon, banana and maple syrup, chocolate sauce, banana and hazelnuts or fresh seasonal fruit, honey and vanilla crème fraîche).

The Ivy – Saturday and Sunday Brunch

The Ivy Cafe Tower Bridge will offer “sophisticated and friendly all-day dining to local residents and visitors alike.  There is also a dedicated weekend brunch menu with some delicious alternatives to our mid-week a la carte and an exclusive drinks menu specially created by our bartender, including some classic favourites with a twist and new creations.”

They do a Saturday and Sunday Brunch (and bank holidays).  The restaurant itself is a beautiful art deco inspired space.  With options like Truffle Arancini, Zucchini fritti, Eggs Benedict and Avocado Benedict, as well as Hot Buttermilk Pancakes for those (like me) with a sweet tooth!

Lantana – Bottomless Brunch

The name ‘Lantana’ comes from a “beautiful flowering plant that was transported from South America to Australia by immigrants where, because of its hardy, tenacious nature, it took hold, becoming an iconic Australian plant. It is a weed of national significance & an apt metaphor for our cafes as they thrive on foreign soil.”  You can upgrade any brunch item to be a bottomless brunch at Lantana for an additional charge on a Saturday or Sunday.  This is served from 9am until 4pm and bottomless brunch lasts 90 minutes.  Choose from brunch dishes like The Big Bubble Benedict (Bubble ‘n’ squeak with caramelised onion & pork sausage, poached egg, Sriracha hollandaise, black pudding, roast tomatoes & sauteed spinach), Salmon Poke Bowl (Poached salmon, seasoned black rice, tenderstem broccoli with gochujang sesame dressing, edamame, spinach, kimchi & peanut crunch) or Courgette & Smoked Cheddar Bread with Halloumi (Toasted with grilled halloumi, sweetcorn & tomato salsa, poached egg, house harissa & chipotle sour cream.)
